Fathers Prayers of The Solace Community
P.O. Box 416
Sevenoaks, Kent TN14 6WE

Dear Fathers,

The great blessing of Fathers Prayers is the uniting of the different groups of men so that we don’t just pray for ourselves but pray also for each other. Pray daily also for other men that they will surrender their masks, be strong in their faith, avoid temptation in whatever form, and become people of prayer. Many men appear to have dropped out of the routine of prayer. When we lead busy lives we can easily put off praying until later or until tomorrow. If we are busy, we need to pray even more and we can achieve much more if we pray first. I remember being told of a busy doctor who used to spend an hour a day in prayer. If she were going to have a very busy day, she would spend two hours in prayer. It’s a question of getting our priorities right.

Our Reasons
I am sure that you already pray for the things outlined above. But the Lord said ‘where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them’. If we, as men, pray daily in our different countries, then I believe we will be truly blessed and the world will change through our prayers. We have to believe in the power of God – He can change things – so lets ask Him.

What Happens Now
It would be so wonderful if you would all start praying the prayers in the booklet straight away and let me know if new groups start or if you need additional books. Please keep to these prayers which, we believe, are inspired, and are a symbol of unity with other Fathers Prayers Groups throughout the world. Remember it only has to be ‘two or three’ in a group. If any of you want prayer please let me know and I will get others praying. We also keep a candle alight each day in front of a cross and place the names of those who have asked for prayer before the cross and candle. (Jesus The Redeemer and Light of the World).

A sheet of frequently asked questions for running meetings is available on request.

It is essential for men to reaffirm their identity, not only as members of society
but as heads of families and as persons making up the Body of Christ.
